“We are cups, constantly being filled. The trick is knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful things out”

Ray Bradbury

“An artist is a receptacle for emotions, that come from all over the place, from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web”

Vessels

An ongoing project, centring on the idea of stories displayed or held within. The vessels may include man made objects, seed pods or human bodies.

Vessels can hold contents for safe keeping but can also be transient and fragile.

Cherrie took early retirement to care for her elderly parents. Around the same time, she became a grandparent for the first time.

These life events made Cherrie reflect on the transience and continuity of life. The memories we inherent from the the past, the things we hold dear, or are lost and what we leave behind for future generations.
